The Transitional Justice Coordination Group (TJCG) has urged the National Unity Government to not let the warlords make their ways to the new cabinet.

In a joint press conference along with civil society groups Sunday in Kabul, the TJCG officials insisted that killers of innocent Afghan civilians must be prosecuted and there should be no seat for them in the new government.

“We strongly want the government to refrain from appointing war criminals and violators of human rights in the new cabinet,” TJCG head Abdullah Ahmadi said.

They expressed the people would not trust on the new government as long as the government doesn’t implement transitional justice and reveal the names of war criminals.

The civil society activists called on the Human Rights Commission to reveal the names of war criminals and violators of human rights.

Last year, a local newspaper published the list of five thousand innocent Afghans who were killed during the war era.
