Notorious gang leader hangs in Kabul

Raees Khodaidad who was involved in kidnapping, murder and robbery cases across the country was hanged in Pol-e-Charkhi prison of Kabul on Saturday, officials said.

According to reliable sources, Khodaidad was trialed against the enforced laws of Afghanistan and was sentenced to death in a legal court.

He was arrested along with two of his men after a special operation by Afghanistan National Directorate of Security (NDS).

Hasseb Sediqi, the NDS spokesman on a statement said,” Raees Khodaidad, who was one of the most prominent, dangerous and skilled mafia leaders in Afghanistan, got arrested by our forces during an ultra-confidential and tough operation”.

According to the National Directorate of Security, Raees Khodaidad, had been using multiple identities and had been traveling through Afghanistan, Tajikstan, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates and was on the most wanted list of the Tajikistan police and Interpol.

Earlier another criminal gang leader, Habib Istalifi who was also involved in plotting to kidnap and murder businessman and even officials was executed in Kabul.
