NUG Fails to Fulfill Commitments Before Brussels Summit: Critics

The National Unity Government (NUG) has failed against its commitments to the world. however, twenty days remain to the Brussels summit.

A number of critics of the government have declared that not only the government’s leaders have not fulfilled their commitments but also have pulled back from this issue.

“The government failed to fulfill commitments and the international community also faces failure, but they are obliged to assist due to their requirements,” said Sidiq Patman, member of ‘New National Front Front’ party said.

In the meantime, the first deputy of the Executive Office says there will be no electoral reforms before the Brussels summit.

“It is impossible that we have elections in the current year and there will be no electoral reforms this year,” said Muhammad Khan, first deputy of CEO.

Ariananews tried to have Presidential Palace’s comments regarding the issue but failed to succeed.

While twenty days remain to the Brussels summit, the Presidential Citadel believes that the National Unity Government has many improvements and will fulfill the other commitments before the summit.

The National Unity Government (NUG), which was created to solve the impasse caused by the bitterly disputed 2014 presidential elections, has come under intense criticism for a wide range of real and perceived failures.

According to ‘Afghanistan Analyst Network’, its position has also been called into question by uncertainty over whether, based on the text of the political agreement, its mandate expires in September 2016 or not.
