America’s former ambassador to Afghanistan, Zalmai Khalil Zad said that Pakistan has not taken any action to change its policy against Afghanistan and never stood by its commitments in Peace talks with Afghan government.

US former ambassador to Afghanistan in his recent speech has said that Pakistan has only been talking of cooperation and has not any commitments for cooperation with Afghan government in Peace Talks.

Khalil Zad noted that Afghan government hopes to improve relations with Pakistan but in addition to continue Peace Talks, it should takes preparations to fight against Taliban.

“Afghanistan should demand Pakistan to take action by its commitments. Afghan government should be ready to fight against terrorism in the country.” Khalil Zad said.

Political analysts count relations between the two countries as a factor in pushing forward peace talks with the Taliban. But Islamabad’s flip-flop in relations with Kabul has always been a sore point.

In the meantime, Afghan Senate domestic security commission said that with the given past policies of Pakistan, this country has never been honest by its commitments against Afghanistan and the government should be should be very cautious in its policies against Pakistan.

Mirdad Nijrabi, head of Senate domestic security commission said, “The government should take serious measures for peace and war and never abandon the battlefield for peace.”

Farooq Nazari, a representative in Parliament said, “We expect Pakistan’s position changes against Afghanistan because war in Afghanistan means war in Pakistan and the two nation will suffer.”

While the statements express that after the formation of national unity government, meetings between Kabul-Islamabad officials become more prosperous.
