Parliament Summons Afghan Top Security Officials Over Recent Attacks
The Afghan Parliament summoned the Defense and Interior Ministers and the defense, interior ministers and head of National Directorate Security over the recent insecurities in the country.
A number of Parliament members have criticized the rise in insecurities and increasing number of terror activities in most parts of the country. Some members fault the incompetence ofsecurity officials for the rising number of attacks.
“We witness security incidents everyday and the death too has a sharp rise. How long should we stay silent. The main reason for all of insecurities is the incompetence of security officials,” said Reyhana Azad, the Parliamentary Representative of Urozgan.
“The security situation is deteriorating day by day and Afghan people are concerning over the future of the country. Terror activities have increased and there is the possibility of many districts to collapse,” said Ghulam Faroqq Majroh, the Parliamentary Representative of Herat.
The inquiry comes as parliament representatives discuss stress on fundamentally change the way of war to defuse conflicts.
The Taliban’ssuccess in some districts of Afghanistan and their significant territorial gains this year have shocked many in Afghanistan.Almost 15 years have passed since the fall of the Taliban in Afghanistan, but peace remains elusive.
