The Upper House of the Afghan Parliament, Mishrano Jirga, has welcomed the agreement on establishing a government of national unity.

The senators praised President-elect Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and CEO-designated Abdullah Abdullah for establishing a joint government which they believed would protect the country from crises.

The legislators asked the Ahmadzai and Abdullah to practice their previous commitments and immediately sign the proposed security agreement with Washington.

“We welcome the national unity government agreement which took place in a sensitive situation and it really saved the country from crises,” said deputy chairman Senate Muhammad Alam Izidyar.

Referring to signing of security accord with the United States, Legislator Nisar Haris said, “Kabul must emphasize on its demands and preconditions prior to the signing of the accord.”

The senators mentioned continued support of Afghan Forces and protection of Afghan borders must top the Kabul demands in the singing of BSA.
