Taliban fighters have taken six foreigners hostage after a “Pakistani helicopter” crashed in Afghanistan, according to unconfirmed reports.

According to Express, the military chopper came down near Azra district in Logar province south of the capital Kabul, it was claimed, with six NATO personnel captured alive.

However a NATO source apparently denied one of the alliance’s helicopters was involved in the incident, which was said to involve foreigners.

Spokesman of Logar provincial governor confirmed that the helicopter belonged to Pakistan and crash-landed in Mati area of Azra district.

He said the helicopter caught fire as soon as it crash-landed but the passengers on board did not suffer any casualties.

The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.

Details about the type of helicopter and the identity of those on board were not immediately available.

Other sources reportedly said a Pakistani military helicopter was involved.
