The Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistan (TEFA) has voiced concern over the unknown process of the electoral reforms.

TEFA says that the parliamentary election should be held without any excuse after the electoral reforms made.

“If the National Unity Government (NUG) is honest with the people, it should not use the electoral reform process as its political game,” Naeem Ayoub Zada, chairman of TEFA said.

“President Ghani and Executive Officer may have no believe in transparent elections,” said  Sidiqullah Tawhidi, chairman of Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan; NAI.

In the meantime, a number of civil society institutions and political parties with offering a scheme for holding a transparent election urged the government to begin the reform process as soon as possible.

“Holding elections without reforms are impossible; stalling and playing with electoral issues is a betrayal for the nation’s fate,” Burhanuddin Khalili, member of Hezb-e Jamiyat Islami said.

This comes as President Ghani has issued a decree on amendment of electoral law but the result is still unclear.
