Two successive explosions were taken place in eastern Nengarhar on Wednesday.

Provincial governor spokesman Ahmad Zia Abdulzai confirmed both attacks saying the first blast happened early this morning around 08:30 am in Arbaban area of Kama district over Bati Koot district logistics and supply chief Wali Khan as a result of a magnetic mine placed in his vehicle, in which the police official along with a civilian is being killed.

He added, the second blast occurred at 09:00 am in Behsoud district over the vehicle of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) prosecutors as a result of IEDs placed under a bridge.

Abdulzai confirms death toll on the second attack, but fears to provide details.

According to the Nengarhar provincial health officials they have received two death people as a result of the attack.

Reports suggest that Ghulam Haidar Haidari who is the district deputy attorney general for interior and foreign crimes has been killed along with his driver.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the responsibility behind the attacks.

Nengarhar is among the volatile provinces in Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are operating in a number of its districts.

Earlier a deadly suicide explosion killed about 35 and injured more than 100 near a bank in Jalalabad City, Taliban insurgents denied and condemned the bank attack.
