Upper House Supports Hezbi Islami Peace Agreement with Government

Senators in the upper house of the parliament ( Meshrano Jirga) have supported the peace agreement of Hezbi Islami with Government of Afghanistan and insisted on earliest signing of the agreement, head of the house have demanded the Government to disclose those who are trying to create barriers for peace negotiations.

Head of the upper house Fazel Hadi Muslimyar said,” High peace council should share the delay reason with people and we support the peace process, demanding the Government those who neglect and trying to create obstacles must be disclosed.”

Senator Hassan Hotak said,” If those who are trying to create obstacles for peace agreement succeed in their plans, how come other insurgents join peace process.”

Meanwhile scores of senators have demanded the enforcement of the peace agreement with Hezbi Islami.

“ We hope to see the peace negotiation with results, and the main point of the agreement is the enforcement and the other issue of the peace agreement is about the collection of weapons and ammunition of the Hezbi Islami members which will draw the trust of the Afghans and it will make Afghans hopeful for their future Senator Mohammad Alam Izadyar said.”

Meanwhile Senator Gul Ahmad Azimi said,” Afghans willing to see the practical steps of the peace agreement on Hezbi Islami that should be a clear example for other insurgents to join peace process.”

Efforts on joining Hezbi Islami with Government began 5 months ago, a delegation from Hezbi Islami has been visiting Kabul officials, last visit of the delegation resulted that all the issues between the two sides to be removed and the peace agreement has been finalized, but it still waits for further signature and approval.
