Afghanistan demands UN relinquish control of funds

President Ashraf Ghani has demanded the United Nations development program to relinquish control of nearly $500 million fund which bankrolls salaries of Afghanistan’s police officers.
Spokesman of President said to media outlets that President’s demand from UN is a part of the reform program that Afghanistan promised to the international community in London conference.
According to Nazifullah Salar Zai, Afghanistan is prepared to be transparently accountable to the international community’s aids.
While president Ghani demanded UN to relinquish control of a fund that bankrolls the salaries of Afghan police that the international community is worrying about the existence of widespread corruption in the country.
