Deputy Ministers directed to perform duties as acting ministers

Afghanistan’s president issued a decree on Monday directed all deputy ministers and deputy heads of the government to perform duties as acting ministers.

According to President Ghani’s decree, with the exception of foreign acting minister, finance acting minister, chamber of commerce and industry acting minister and women’s affairs acting minister, 24 other acting ministers were dismissed.

Deputy Ministers who perform their duties as acting ministers up to the next one month are as follows:

A: Defense acting minister, Enayatullah Nazari
B: Interior acting minister, Ayoub Salangi
C: Justice acting minister, Sayeed Yousef Halim
D: Education acting minister, Muhammad Asef Nang
E: Higher education acting minister, Muhammad Osman Baburi
F: Information and culture acting minister, Gholam Nabi Farahi
G: Haj and Islamic affairs acting minister, Daae-O-Lhaq Abed
H: Work, social affairs, martyred and disabled acting minister, Wasil Noor Mahmand
I: Public health acting minister, Ahmad Jan Naeem
J: Refugees and Repatriation acting minister, Fazil Ahmad Azimi
K: Border and Tribal affairs acting minster, Sayeed Ahmad Haqbin
L: Counter Narcotics acting minister: Haroon Rashid Shirzad
M: Economic acting minister, Hakm Khan Habibi
N: Agriculture acting minister, Salim Khan Konduzi
O: Mines acting minister, Mir Ahmad Jawid Sadat
P: Transportation acting minister, Gholam Ali Rasikh
Q: Rural rehabilitation and development acting minister, Tariq Esmati
R: communication and information technology acting minister, Hesamuddin Hesam
S: Urban development acting minister, Hamed Jalil
T: Energy and water acting minister, Gholam Farooq Qari Zada
U: Public work acting minister, Noor Gul Mangal
V: head of department of local governance, Abdul Matin Big
W: Acting minister of the government in parliamentary affairs, Karim Baz

This comes as yesterday president Ghani has said that the new cabinet of the Afghan national unity government will be formed by two to four more weeks.
