New Members of Cabinet to be introduced within 2 Days: Abdullah Abdullah

The Chief Executive Officer, Abdullah Abdullah speaking on a gathering with Parwan elders on Saturday said, tremendous improvements have taken place during the last couple of days for formation of the new cabinet and you will witness the results in the upcoming days.

However, some political experts believe that the new government leaders shall not make the new cabinet a victim of the London Summit.

In addition on Saturday session Wolesi Jirga urged the new government to introduce the new cabinet as soon as possible to legitimate the government and also emphasized to avoid nominees with dual citizenship.

Reports suggest that there will be about 21 offices in the new cabinet and both President and the Chief Executive Officer have come to an agreement to divide the 17 ministries yet.

The House Secretary, Eng. Sayed Akram believes that the new cabinet will be introduced to Parliament during the upcoming week.

These statements come after President Ghani promised during his inauguration to introduce the new cabinet within 45 working days; while it is now 2 months old, but they could not come to a conclusion due to different interpretations of the National Unity Government Agreement Articles.
