State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce told a regular briefing Iran must cooperate fully with the U.N. agency without further delay.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment. The State Department referred Reuters to Trump's public remarks.
He said he is instead seeking "a real end," which involves Iran "giving up entirely" on nukes.
