Uzbek, Pakistani special envoys meet to discuss Afghanistan
Uzbekistan’s special representative for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Durrani on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
The sides exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community, as well as their own countries, to expand cooperation with Afghanistan.
They also discussed ongoing transport and communication projects in the country, in particular, the construction of the Termez–Mazar-e-Sharif–Kabul–Peshawar railway line, which, according to Pakistan, is of key importance in the implementation of regional connectivity.
The parties expressed mutual interest in developing joint actions to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, as well as to promote the peaceful development of the country.
