President Ashraf Ghani who was speaking at the graduation ceremony of Afghan National Army (ANA) officers declared that Afghan government has launched peace efforts with the armed insurgents from a strength position.

We want peace from our strength not weakness, a transparent and clear peace not a hidden deal, peace with protecting our achievements,” he said.

Recently Afghans expressed their concerns through media that Pakistan is benefiting from peace talks and the Afghan government is dealing with the Taliban by sacrificing the last 13 years achievements in democracy and women rights.

President Ghani clearly stated on his speeches that “I haven’t made a hidden bargain with any country and I will never do so”.

These comments come after a number of experts stated that Afghan government is providing premature scoring to Pakistan before Islamabad proves his loyalty to cooperate Kabul in Afghan-led peace negotiations.

Ghani also warned that no one will be able to change Afghanistan to a battlefield for their proxy wars probably referring to Ex-Pakistan President Parviz Musharaf statements.

I warn that no country can make Afghanistan a center for proxy wars, anyone who thinks like this has eliminated itself,” Ghani said on his speeches at Marshal Fahim military university in Kabul.

He also alarmed global terrorism that Afghans will stand against them firmly saying,” Regional and international terrorist groups must be informed that Afghan men and women will stand against their activities in one line and will prevent extension of their activities”.

Furthermore; Afghanistan Chief of Army Staff said that ANA is well prepared to sacrifice themselves in order to defend their homeland.

Gen. Shir Mohammad Karimi, Chief of Army Staff said,” Right now ANA is on the front line defending their country, I assure ANA is defending Afghanistan with all the strength and available equipments and they are ready to sacrifice”.

These statements were noted from the graduation party of ANA officers.

More than 500 officers were graduated and received their diplomas after completing four year military trainings.

The newly graduated officers vow that they are ready to sacrifice serving their country.

Currently Afghan Security forces are fighting against armed-insurgents alone, though they are not equipped with heavy weapons.

China says Afghanistan–Pakistan peace talks show progress

China has positioned itself as a facilitator, aiming to create conditions for dialogue and provide a platform for negotiations.

Negotiations between Afghanistan and Pakistan are making steady progress, China said on Friday, as efforts continue to ease tensions in their most serious conflict since the return of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in 2021.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said both sides had welcomed Beijing’s mediation and were willing to resume dialogue. “This is a positive development,” she said, noting that China remains in close communication with both governments.

Beijing— which shares a border with both countries—has stepped up diplomatic engagement in recent months, including calls with foreign ministers and a visit by a special envoy in March. Previous rounds of talks have reportedly taken place in Urumqi, though officials did not confirm the latest venue.

China has positioned itself as a facilitator, aiming to create conditions for dialogue and provide a platform for negotiations. Mao said further details would be released jointly by the three countries “in due course.”

Clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces since October have killed dozens on both sides, with Afghan civilians bearing the brunt of the violence. Islamabad has accused Kabul of harboring militants responsible for cross-border attacks—an allegation Afghan authorities deny, calling militancy a domestic issue for Pakistan.

The renewed diplomatic push signals cautious optimism that tensions between the neighbors could ease through sustained dialogue under Chinese mediation.
