Pakistan PM says next government should continue deportation of illegal migrants

Published

on

Pakistan caretaker Prime Minister Anwaa-ul-Haq Kakar has once again defended the move to deport illegal migrants, saying it was the correct decision and the next government should continue the process.

According to reports, Kakar said on Friday that Afghans who enter Pakistan must have a visa.

He also questioned the notion of allowing foreign citizens to enter a country without a passport.

More than 475,000 Afghans have returned from Pakistan since Islamabad began a crackdown on illegal migrants.

Around 7,500 returned through Spin Boldak crossing over in the past one month, according to the Afghan Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation.

Meanwhile, Indian newspaper Sunday Guardian reported that Pakistan is pushing Daesh militants into Afghanistan.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), however, rejects the report saying the borders are fully secured and no militant is allowed into the country.
