New Delhi has reiterated that it remains committed to supporting the Afghan people through sustained humanitarian and medical assistance.
Shaheen described India’s decision as both “important and needed” for advancing relations across multiple sectors, including trade, development, and diplomacy.
The relief supplies are being sent to Afghanistan via the Torkham crossing via five trucks with 40-foot containers.
The report also warned of rising cases of livestock disease—particularly foot-and-mouth disease—adding to the pressure on farming communities already struggling with dwindling feed and water supplies.
