MoD claims victory against Taliban
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Monday claimed victory against Taliban group, saying Taliban and other terrorist groups failed in this season and the backbone of these groups is broken.
MoD says more than 1500 threats from the oppositions of government including group attacks and suicide attacks thwarted by the Afghan forces in this season.
Officials claimed that the armed oppositions of the government lost control to capture parts of the country.
The ministry emphasized that currently Afghan security forces including the national army are battling with the oppositions in 26 parts of the country.
However, the armed oppositions of the government are trying to capture some parts of the country by launching group attacks but the Afghan security forces do not remain silent and they have also launched heavy operations against them.
“Security threats exist in several parts of the country but the oppositions failed to reach their aims. In the last two months many operations have launched but unfortunately most of civilians have been the victims of these movements,” Gen. Afzal Aman, head of defense ministry operation said.
Dawlat Waziri, deputy spokesman of defense ministry said, “The last power of Taliban would be this season which they also lost their power. They will not be able to launch any terrorist attacks anymore.”
This comes as the Taliban commander headquarters that are fighting with Afghan security forces are controlled by the foreigners.
The ministry of defense also noted that they are not indifferent against war between Taliban group and Daesh.
MoD is said to consider Daesh group a serious threat for Afghanistan; adding Afghan troops will use any equipment to destroy the enemies.
One of the extremist groups in Afghanistan now fights against Taliban militants. Local officials in Nangahar said that Daesh groups are attacking Taliban in several districts of the province.
Some are said to consider this would be a great opportunity to suppress both Taliban and Daesh group.
National security adviser of presidential citadel confirmed Daesh activities in Afghanistan and said that Daesh group is trying to access to drug market to support its militants and keep the flames of war.

China says Afghanistan–Pakistan peace talks show progress
China has positioned itself as a facilitator, aiming to create conditions for dialogue and provide a platform for negotiations.
Negotiations between Afghanistan and Pakistan are making steady progress, China said on Friday, as efforts continue to ease tensions in their most serious conflict since the return of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in 2021.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said both sides had welcomed Beijing’s mediation and were willing to resume dialogue. “This is a positive development,” she said, noting that China remains in close communication with both governments.
Beijing— which shares a border with both countries—has stepped up diplomatic engagement in recent months, including calls with foreign ministers and a visit by a special envoy in March. Previous rounds of talks have reportedly taken place in Urumqi, though officials did not confirm the latest venue.
China has positioned itself as a facilitator, aiming to create conditions for dialogue and provide a platform for negotiations. Mao said further details would be released jointly by the three countries “in due course.”
Clashes between Afghan and Pakistani forces since October have killed dozens on both sides, with Afghan civilians bearing the brunt of the violence. Islamabad has accused Kabul of harboring militants responsible for cross-border attacks—an allegation Afghan authorities deny, calling militancy a domestic issue for Pakistan.
The renewed diplomatic push signals cautious optimism that tensions between the neighbors could ease through sustained dialogue under Chinese mediation.
