List of Commissioners for IEC-IECC Finalized: Tauhidi
Officials in Electoral Reformation Committee for Afghanistan Election system in gathering have urged that the list of selecting of commissioners for both Independent Election Commission IEC and Independent Election Complain Commission IECC has been finalized.
Deputy of reformation committee for Election Sediqullah Tauhidi said,” the list has been finalized moreover the civil society activists has been the first institution introduced its representatives.
However President Deputy Spokesman Sayed Zafar Hashimi had told to media that due to no introduction of the representatives from the civil society address the process is postponed.
Sediqullah Tauhidi deputy of the reformation committee for Election said,” Civil society institutions has delivered a letter with introduction of the same person whom was introduced in the past, there was a problem on correspondents representatives in the second session same person was introduced Mr. Hashimi didn’t have enough information about it, same case was repeated while introduction of Human rights representative.”
Officials in Electoral reformation committee believed that the selective committee of commissioners should begin its activities to avoid further delays of Parliamentary Election in the country.
All institutions have introduced their representatives, We hope to see the selective committee members for commissioners to begin its activities in coming weeks, by conducting the activities there will be changes made in the list of Election commissions and even within the structures of the commissions Mr. Tauhidi added.
Officials in Electoral reformation committee have declared that holding parliamentary Election is a must and vital,demanding the Government to hold the Wolesi Jirga and district council Elections.

India sends 2.5-ton medical shipment to Afghanistan
Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, announced on Friday that a 2.5-ton consignment, including emergency medicines, medical disposables, kits, and equipment has been delivered to Kabul.
According to him, the aid shipment is intended to support the swift recovery of those injured in the recent airstrike by Pakistan’s military regime.
He emphasized that India stands with the people of Afghanistan and will continue to provide all possible humanitarian assistance.

Mahdi Ansary, local journalist, released from prison
The Afghanistan Journalists Center (AFJC) has announced that Mahdi Ansary, a reporter for the Afghan News Agency (AFKA), has been released after serving one and a half years in Bagram prison.
In a statement welcoming his release, AFJC emphasized that the fundamental rights of this journalist—who had been tried and imprisoned on charges of cooperating with exiled and foreign media—were “seriously” violated.
Ansari was arrested on October 5, 2023, after returning from his workplace in Kabul.
He was sentenced on January 1, 2024 by the Kabul Primary Court to one and a half years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Emirate.”
