The Trans-Afghan railway project, first suggested by Uzbekistan in December 2018, proposes to extend the Afghan rail network from Mazar-e-Sharif to Kabul and then to Paktia province.

Kabul police warns Monday demonstrators to avoid any violence and chaos as the police forces will seriously prosecute the troublemakers.
A large number of Afghans are expected to stage huge protests across the City on Monday for the change of Turkmenistan – Uzbekistan – Tajikistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan (TUTAP) project route from Bamyan to Salang.
Police says they have taken specific security measures to avoid any infiltration or misuse of the enemies into the demonstrations.
“Demonstration is the legal right of the people, but we warn those who try to make chaos and offend others using this right,” General Sayed Ahmad Ali Hassanzada head of the Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) said,” they will be prosecuted seriously”.
He emphasized that police will use all possible equipments and personnel to provide security for the demonstrators.
“We are performing our duties based on the direction of the law, all issues are under the observation of our intelligence agencies,” Hassanzada added.
He continues that enough police forces will be assigned to ensure the security and be prepared for every possibilities.
Thousands of people from central provinces of Afghanistan are expected to gather in Kabul on Monday to protest the decision to route the TUTAP project through Salang, rather than Bamyan. The Project – financed by the Asian Development Bank seeks to boost Afghan access to electricity. A major feature of the project is linking together the ten separate grids that currently provide electricity in Afghanistan.

Afghan prisoner stabs inmate to death in Delhi
An Afghan prisoner in Delhi stabbed another prisoner to death on Friday after a dispute over food, the Times of India reported.
The deceased was identified as Deepak Soni, who was 29-year-old.
The killer has been identified as Abdul Basir Akhundzada who is 44 years old.
Abdul Basir Akhundzadeh had been arrested in connection with a case of attempted murder in Lajpet Nagar area of New Delhi in 2019.
Soni had been arrested in connection with the case of robbery and murder in 2018.

Afghan consul general in Mumbai Zakia Wardak resigns
Zakia Wardak, Afghanistan’s consul general in India’s Mumbai city, resigned on Saturday, following reports of gold smuggling.
The Times of India has reported that Wardak was caught at Mumbai airport with 25 kilograms of gold smuggled from Dubai.
While announcing her resignation, Wardak said on X that over the past year, she had encountered numerous personal attacks and defamation not only directed towards her but also towards her close family and extended relatives.
“These attacks, which appear to be organized, have severely impacted my ability to effectively operate in my role and have demonstrated the challenges faced by women in Afghan society who strive to modernize and bring positive change amidst ongoing propaganda campaigns,” she said.

Trans-Afghan railway project expected to be completed by end of 2027: Uzbek official
The Trans-Afghan railway project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriev said.
“The project will help to connect three countries: Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The railroad will play an important role in the creation of the Eurasian Transport Corridor. As a result, Central Asian countries will have access to an Indian Ocean port,” he said during the III Tashkent International Investment Forum, Trend news agency reported.
The Uzbek deputy minister noted that the railroad will reduce the delivery time of goods from 35 to 5 days, and the cost of goods delivery will be reduced by at least 40 percent.
