Bayat Foundation distributes Ramadan aid in Nangarhar

As part of its aid program for the holy month of Ramadan, Bayat Foundation has distributed food assistance packages to dozens of needy families in Nangarhar province.

The packages which include flour, oil and rice, have been distributed to the needy after a transparent survey.

Officials of Bayat Foundation said that the Ramadan aid program will continue to cover Afghan provinces.

“Bayat Foundation helps the needy every year. This year also, on the occasion of Ramadan, it distributed aid in Jalalabad city. The assistance includes flour, oil and rice,” said Attaullah Sahil, the representative of Bayat Foundation in the eastern zone of the country.

Thanking Bayat Foundation, recipients called on other organizations to help them during the holy month.

“We are very thankful to Bayat Foundation for distributing aid to us. God help them. They have given us oil, rice and flour,” said Sima, a recipient.

Bayat Foundation not only regularly assists the needy, but it also serves in various fields, including education and health – constantly working to improve the lives of Afghans in need.

Afghanistan’s Embassy in Tokyo to suspend operations

The Embassy of Afghanistan in Japan, currently run by diplomats of the previous government, has announced that it will suspend its operations in Tokyo after the end of January 2026.

In a statement issued on Friday, the embassy said the decision was made after consultations with Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in close coordination with Japanese authorities, and in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

The embassy added that after January 31, all of its political, economic, cultural, and consular activities will be halted until further notice.

Currently, Shaida Abdali is serving as Afghanistan’s ambassador to Japan.
