Kabir meets with delegation of Pakistani scholars
The deputy prime minister for policy, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir met with Maulana Hamidul Haq, the leader of Jamiat Ulema Islam Party of Pakistan, and the deputy of Amia Darul Uloom Haqqania, Syed Muhammad Yousuf Shah, in Kabul on Monday for talks on various issues including the strengthening the Islamic system in Afghanistan.
Hamidul Haq referred to the nations of Afghanistan and Pakistan as brothers and said both nations have many Islamic, cultural and social values and commonalities.
He called the relations between the two countries important and useful and said that the scholars and the people of Pakistan want good relations with Afghanistan and they hope that political relations will be developed between Kabul and Islamabad in addition to economic cooperation for the benefit of the people of both countries.
Hamidul Haq mentioned Afghanistan’s frozen assets and said that such one-sided and cruel actions harm Afghans.
Kabir in turn said the Islamic system in Afghanistan was the dream of Afghans, who had to make many sacrifices to realize it.
Kabir noted that the Islamic Emirate wants good relations with all its neighbors and will not allow anyone to use Afghanistan to threaten another country.
He said the role of scholars in restoring relations is important and said security is restored in the country adding that no one is allowed to carry out destructive acts.

Afghanistan’s Embassy in Tokyo to suspend operations
The Embassy of Afghanistan in Japan, currently run by diplomats of the previous government, has announced that it will suspend its operations in Tokyo after the end of January 2026.
In a statement issued on Friday, the embassy said the decision was made after consultations with Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in close coordination with Japanese authorities, and in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The embassy added that after January 31, all of its political, economic, cultural, and consular activities will be halted until further notice.
Currently, Shaida Abdali is serving as Afghanistan’s ambassador to Japan.

Sadin Ayyıldız, Chargé d’Affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Kabul, held a courtesy meeting with Zakir Jalali, the Second Political Deputy of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the start of his mission.
The Turkish Embassy in Kabul said in a post that the meeting included mutual exchanges of views on bilateral relations.
