Tight Security Ensures for Eid Days in Capital: Rahimi

Security officials in Kabul have claimed that tight security will be ensured for Kabul residents to hold the Eid-Sayeed Adha with peace and joys, and will neutralize the Taliban plots for disrupting the security and safety the following residents.

Meanwhile the Kabul security forces reported that 469 persons accused for different criminal activities were arrested by the Kabul security police forces in past one month, its said that huge number of the suspected persons were provoked by several politicians to do firing in the air on the 15th National Hero death Anniversary.

Gen, Abdul Rahman Rahimi said,” Our enemies are trying take the happy moments of the Kabul residents on Eid days by launching terrorist attacks, we as police forces are fully ready to ensure good security for the residents of Kabul.”

Further he went on and stated that the suspected persons whom were arrested by Kabul police forces were provoked by a number of politicians to do firing on the 15th death anniversary of the Afghanistan National Hero and disrupt the security condition of Kabul city, stating that the detainees were involved in different criminal activities.

The Police officials in Kabul city have demanded the residents to be cooperative and support their own police on ensure peace and safety.

Kabul residents have gained bitter experience out of Taliban terrorist attacks on Eid days but security officials have claimed that tight security measurements will be adopted to ensure security and safety for the residents of Kabul on Eid days.

UN Doha meeting should reflect realities of Afghanistan: Iranian envoy

Iran’s special representative for Afghanistan, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, said in a meeting with his Italian counterpart that the next UN-convened meeting on Afghanistan should reflect the realities of the country.

Qomi said that Tehran is ready to work with Europe on the development of a comprehensive cooperation plan for Afghanistan based on the consultations it has conducted.

He added that the topics of the third meeting of special envoys on Afghanistan in Doha should be based on the realities of the region and Afghanistan.

“The actions of countries outside the region have not been useful in solving the crisis and challenges of Afghanistan so far, and if this situation continues, Europe will also be plagued by the problems,” he said.

The last meeting of the United Nations on Afghanistan was held in Doha in February this year, but it failed to achieve its primary objectives.

Floods kill 50 people in Afghanistan’s Ghor province

As many as 50 people died and 10 others went missing following floods in Afghanistan’s western Ghor province on Friday, local officials said.

A total of 2,000 houses were destroyed and 4,000 homes were partially damaged in the floods, the provincial police said in a statement. 2,500 shops have been completely destroyed.

Based on the statement, thousands of livestock perished and over 50 vehicles were damaged.

Moreover, hundreds of hectares of agricultural land and bridges have been destroyed.

Floods have also caused closure of Ghor-Kabul and Ghor-Herat highways, and roads connecting Ghor districts.

Seven people killed following floods in Faryab

Meanwhile, local officials in Faryab say that seven people have died due to floods in the northern Afghan province.

Ismatullah Moradi, the spokesman of Faryab governor, says that the floods in this province have caused huge material losses.

Meanwhile, Sar-e-pol governor’s office in a statement said that floods in the province had destroyed hundreds of acres of agricultural land, 60 houses, bridges, water dams, and shops.

The statement added that the losses are likely to increase.

Spain confirms three tourists killed in Afghanistan attack

Three Spanish tourists were killed and at least one Spaniard was injured in an attack by gunmen in Afghanistan’s central Bamiyan province, Spain’s foreign ministry said on Friday.

Earlier on Friday, Interior Ministry’s spokesman Abdul Mateen Qani had said that three foreign tourists and one Afghan citizen had been killed in the attack.

Four foreign nationals and three Afghans were also injured in the attack when gunmen opened fire, he added. Four people have been arrested, he said.

The Spanish foreign ministry said that the consular emergency unit had been fully mobilised and the victims and their families were being assisted, Reuters reported.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez wrote on social messaging platform X that he was “shocked by the news of the murder of Spanish tourists in Afghanistan”.
