ACCI officials predicting employment opportunities within next 3 months
Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) published a new report analyzing the current situation of Afghanistan markets worrying.
The report is indicating that currently investors are hopeful for a bright future of investment in Afghanistan, but unfortunately the investors faced with great challenges during 2014.
Atiqullah Nasrat, Chief Executive Officer of ACCI said,” security challenges after the BSA signed between Kabul and Washington, delays in cabinet formation, acting ministers and governors in governmental institutions during the last six months were the challenges hugely affected on Afghan businessmen, investors and employers, but fortunately the economical situation is getting better now”.
He also added that according to our poll in five major cities of Afghanistan 80% of the companies operating in Afghanistan were not operational during the last six months.
Mr. Nasrat said that the report show that 77% of the companies have declared that they have litter or no access to power.
ACCI officials are hopeful about the economical situation of Afghanistan in the future saying,” Our forecast show that the National Unity Government will pave the way to provide a good environment for employment and the companies will start recruiting people,” Mr. Nasrat said.
These optimisms raises while the nominated ministers for economical sectors could not obtain vote of confidence from Afghan Parliament last week and MPs left the House for their winter vacations, yet the new candidates to be introduced by the NUG.

Supreme leader approves budget for 1403 solar year
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has ratified the national budget for fiscal year 1403 (solar year) after a “thorough review and consideration.”
This year’s national budget has been meticulously crafted to address the needs and priorities of the people, IEA spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Tuesday.
As with the previous year, the budget has been drawn up exclusively using domestic revenues.
The Ministry of Finance will, as always, incorporate the national budget for the fiscal year 1403 into the country’s financial system, Mujahid said.
All associated sectors, both ordinary and developmental, will be managed with full transparency and in accordance with standard procedures, he added.

Acting commerce minister meets Russian deputy PM
Nooruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, met with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk to discuss trade and investment, it was announced on Friday.
Sergey Pavlov, General Director of Russian Railways, and Dmitry Zverev, Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia, were also present in the meeting, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said in a statement.
According to the statement, the two sides discussed increasing the volume of trade, preferential tariff for Afghan goods, Russian investment in mines and water dams in Afghanistan, and Afghanistan’s role in the International North–South Transport Corridor.
They also discussed about reducing the cost of transportation through the Russian railway, removing the export tax on basic materials, arranging the trip of the delegation to the ports of Astrakhan and Makhachkala, and holding a trade connectivity conference and an expo of Afghan products in Moscow.
Azizi met with the Russian deputy PM on the sidelines of the Kazan Forum – the 15th International Economic Forum of Russia and the Islamic World.
He also met with representatives of a number of Tatarstan and Russia companies and encouraged them to invest in Afghanistan.

Azizi meets with head of Tatarstan on sidelines of Kazan Forum
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said Thursday acting minister Nooruddin Azizi met with the leader of Russia’s autonomous republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov, on the sidelines of a meeting in Kazan.
According to the ministry, Azizi met with Minnikhanov on the sidelines of the Kazan Forum – the 15th International Economic Forum of Russia and the Islamic World.
The two officials discussed bilateral trade relations, the establishment of the Russian Trade House in Afghanistan, the visit of Minnikhanov to Kabul, investment in electricity production, water transfer, mining, cultural and economic cooperation and other matters.
This annual meeting is held by Russia and the 14th round of this meeting was also held in the same country last year.
The main goal of the forum is to strengthen trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural ties between Russian regions and the countries of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as to promote the development of the Islamic financial system institutions in Russia.
